The Philippine National Police Academy Cadet Admission Test (PNPACAT) is conducted every year (every last Sunday of October or in the 1st week of November) to recruit aspiring cadets to study in the prestigious facility of Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA). Every cadet that graduated in PNPA has a chance to lead the Philippine National Police (PNP) as a Police Lieutenant, Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) as a Jail Officer, and the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) as a Fire Inspector.
The submission of application for PNPACAT is started every 2nd quarter of the year. The examination date is dated every last week of October in 28 examination centers nationwide. What is the Philippine National Police Academy Cadet Admission Test (PNPACAT)?
The Philippine National Police Academy Cadet Admission Test (PNPACAT) is a pre-qualifying test given to the aspiring cadets for Philippine National Police Academy administered by the Philippine National Police Academy itself.
What is the Initial Qualification to take the PNPACAT?
According to the Philippine National Police Academy the Initial Qualification and Requirements that applicant must be:
- A natural-born Filipino citizen;
- Must be 18-22 years old
- Single and never been married
- At least Senior High School graduate upon admission
- He or she must have a barefoot height of 5’2″ (158.5 cm) for male and 5’0″ (152.4 cm) for female
- With a weight that corresponds to the applicant’s height, gender, and age (in reference to BMI)
- Physically and mentally fit to undergo training
- With good moral character (no criminal, administrative and civil derogatory record)
- With no pending complaint and/or casein court involving moral turpitude and other cases against the State
- Not a former cadet of PNPA, or other service academies (PMA, PMMA, MAAP)
- Tattoos or other brotherhood marks
- Ear piercing for male and multiple ear piercing (male only)
- Never been dismissed from any private employment or government position for a cause
Also, the applicant must don’t have any medical condition will be a cause of his/her disqualifications in the exam like:
- Under height and overweight or obese
- Defective Visual Perception (color blindness, nearsighted/farsighted with corrective eyeglasses or lens, nystagmus);
- Physical Deformities Example: bowlegged or congenital defects;
- The perforated eardrum, chronic sinusitis, bleeding tendencies, hemorrhoids (Lemurians), hernia (if not treated), varicocele, extensive skin disorders
- History of heart disease, hypertension, asthma, active PTB, kidney and liver diseases, epileptic seizure disorders, major surgical operations; communicable diseases such as HIV/ AIDS, Hepatitis, and VD
- Full dentures, Cleft lip and palate, malocclusion, Deformities of the face, Open bite, Speech defect, four (4) missing front teeth and/or six (6) posterior/molars
- Goiter; History of pregnancy; Presence of breast mass; Painful menstruation;
- Any other similar defects which may hinder in the Cadetship Training Program.
How to process the application for PNPACAT online?
- Go to the PNPA website https://application.pnpa.edu.ph.
- Click on the “Apply Online” button.
- Create an account by providing your full name, email address, and password.
- Upload the following scanned documents:
- PSA Birth Certificate (front page only)
- Accomplished PNPA BMI Form (signed by a licensed physician)
- Passport-sized ID picture with name tag
- Click on the “Submit” button.
- Print. A copy of NOE will be presented to the proctor/examiner during actual PNPCAT exam

- Download the application form and fill up the necessary details
- With your accomplished form along with the photocopy of your PSA/NSO Birth Certificate, then mail it or submit it directly to this address: The Director (Attn: Registrar), Philippine National Police Academy, Camp General Mariano N. Castañeda, Silang, Cavite 4118
- If you qualified, you will receive a notice from the PNPA Registrar, also you can check the qualified applicant in the official PNPA website.
Things you must know before taking the PNPACAT
The PNPACAT is a competency-based exam with a 200-item test, that you must at least score about 50% in each of the subjects covered. For example, you scored about 50% of the four subjects in the exam but you fail to achieve the 50% score in one subject this means you are not allowed to advance into the next stage the screening. Also, the exam is free you don’t need to pay for examination fees like on Civil Service Exam (CSE). The prescribed attire for the male is a collared shirt any color, maong pants, or slacks. For females, skirts and dresses are allowed but not too skimpy.
The coverage of the exam consists of five subject areas:
- Communication Skills
- Logical and Reasoning Ability
- Math and Sciences
- General Information and Current Events
- Values and Aptitude for the Service
Also, don’t forget to bring this following on the date of exam:
- Self-stamped window envelope
- Black ink pen (except for gel ink pens)
- Two pencils (No. 2)
- Rubber eraser
- Two valid identification cards e.g. school ID with picture, driver’s license, PRC ID, voter’s ID, Employee’s ID, UMID and Passport
And the PNPA examination results will be published in the third week of December on their website and to the passers, they will receive a notice from the PNPA.

After passing the PNPACAT, you are now advance to the next stage the screening
- Physical Agility Test (PAT)
- Psychological and Psychiatric Examination (PPE)
- Physical, Medical and Dental Examination (PMDE)
- Panel Interview
The Minimum Requirements for PNPA Physical Agility Test:
- Pushups: Male 3 reps
- Full Arms Hanging: Female 45 seconds
- 2-Minute Sit-Ups: Male 40 reps; Female 40 reps
- 2-Minute Push-Ups: Male 25 reps; Female 25 reps
- 100-Meter Dash: Male 18 seconds; Female 20 seconds
- 3.2 km run: Male 24 minutes; Female 27 minutes
If you pass the screening stage, you are now a PNPA cadet and enjoy the benefits and privileges of a PNPA cadet.
