The submission of application for PNPACAT is started every 2^nd quarter of the year. The examination date is dated every last week of October in 28 examination centers nationwide. What is the Initial Qualification to take the PNPACAT?

According to the Philippine National Police Academy the Initial Qualification and Requirements that applicant must be:

•  A natural-born Filipino citizen;
• Must be 18-22 years old
• Single and never been married
• At least Senior High School graduate upon admission
• He or she must have a barefoot height of 5’2″ (158.5 cm) for male and 5’0″ (152.4 cm) for female
• With a weight that corresponds to the applicant’s height, gender, and age (in reference to BMI)
• Physically and mentally fit to undergo training
• With good moral character (no criminal, administrative and civil derogatory record)
• With no pending complaint and/or casein court involving moral turpitude and other cases against the State
• Not a former cadet of PNPA, or other service academies (PMA, PMMA, MAAP)
• Tattoos or other brotherhood marks
• Ear piercing for male and multiple ear piercing (male only)
• Never been dismissed from any private employment or government position for a cause

• Under height and overweight or obese
• Defective Visual Perception (color blindness, nearsighted/farsighted with corrective eyeglasses or lens, nystagmus);
• Physical Deformities Example: bowlegged or congenital defects;
• The perforated eardrum, chronic sinusitis, bleeding tendencies, hemorrhoids (Lemurians), hernia (if not treated), varicocele, extensive skin disorders
• History of heart disease, hypertension, asthma, active PTB, kidney and liver diseases, epileptic seizure disorders, major surgical operations; communicable diseases such as HIV/ AIDS, Hepatitis, and VD
• Full dentures, Cleft lip and palate, malocclusion, Deformities of the face, Open bite, Speech defect, four (4) missing front teeth and/or six (6) posterior/molars
• Goiter; History of pregnancy; Presence of breast mass; Painful menstruation;
• Any other similar defects which may hinder in the Cadetship Training Program.

How to process the application for PNPACAT online?

1. Go to the PNPA website https://application.pnpa.edu.ph.
2. Click on the “Apply Online” button.
3. Create an account by providing your full name, email address, and password.
4. Upload the following scanned documents:
   • PSA Birth Certificate (front page only)
   • Accomplished PNPA BMI Form (signed by a licensed physician)
   • Passport-sized ID picture with name tag
5. Click on the “Submit” button.
6. Print. A copy of NOE will be presented to the proctor/examiner during actual PNPCAT exam

How to process the application for PNPACAT?

If you think you are qualified and don’t have any medical conditions causing a disqualification to take the exam, you can process your application by following this quick guide below: 

• Download the application form and fill up the necessary details
• With your accomplished form along with the photocopy of your PSA/NSO Birth Certificate, then mail it or submit it directly to this address: The Director (Attn: Registrar), Philippine National Police Academy, Camp General Mariano N. Castañeda, Silang, Cavite 4118
• If you qualified, you will receive a notice from the PNPA Registrar, also you can check the qualified applicant in the official PNPA website.

Things you must know before taking the PNPACAT

The PNPACAT is a competency-based exam with a 200-item test, that you must at least score about 50% in each of the subjects covered. For example, you scored about 50% of the four subjects in the exam but you fail to achieve the 50% score in one subject this means you are not allowed to advance into the next stage the screening. Also, the exam is free you don’t need to pay for examination fees like on Civil Service Exam (CSE). The prescribed attire for the male is a collared shirt any color, maong pants, or slacks. For females, skirts and dresses are allowed but not too skimpy.

The coverage of the exam consists of five subject areas:

• Communication Skills
• Logical and Reasoning Ability
• Math and Sciences
• General Information and Current Events
• Values and Aptitude for the Service

Also, don’t forget to bring this following on the date of exam:

• Self-stamped window envelope
• Black ink pen (except for gel ink pens)
• Two pencils (No. 2)

• 100-Meter Dash: Male 18 seconds; Female 20 seconds
• 3.2 km run: Male 24 minutes; Female 27 minutes

What is the Philippine Military Academy Entrance Exam (PMAEE)?

The Philippine Military Academy Entrance Exam (PMAEE) is a test for an individual to an aspiring cadet and study in the prestigious facility of Philippine Military Academy.

Qualifications for PMA Entrance Exam

According to the Philippine Military Academy (PMA), to qualify to take the PMA Entrance Exam the applicant must be:

• A Natural Born Filipino Citizen.
• Minimum height of 5 feet for both men and women.
• Physically fit and of good moral character.
• Single and has never been married, not pregnant nor have a legal obligation to support a child or children
• At least high school graduate with an 85% GPA.
• Grade 12 senior high (K-12) may take the exam provided that they graduate.
• At least 17 years old and not more than 22 years old on 01 April of the year of admission.

Where to apply for the PMA entrance exam?

There are three ways to process your application for the PMA entrance exam; via online, mail, or go directly to the Office of Cadet Admission in Baguio City.

• For Online application, you need to register to the Online Application System of PMA; filled up the necessary details like personal information, educational background and upload the needed requirements like High School Form 137 or Form 138 and PSA copy of Birth Certificate. Once the system validated your application, you will receive a downloadable EXAM PERMIT in your account.
• For application via mail, scan and fill up the application form. After that prepare the full accomplished application form along with a 2×2 ID picture with white background, photocopies of your birth certificate, and a high school form 137 or form 138. And send it to this address: OFFICE OF THE CADET ADMISSION, Philippine Military Academy, Fort Gregorio del Pilar 2602, Baguio City. Wait for their response via your indicated email in the application form.
• For walk-in applicants, bring the application (filled up) form along with a 2×2 ID picture with white background, photocopies of your birth certificate, and a high school form 137 or form 138. Then give it directly to the OFFICE OF THE CADET ADMISSION and wait for the EXAM Permit.

Things to know before taking the PMA Entrance Exam?

After the approval of your application, you will wait for the examination date and go to the testing center that you indicated in the application with your exam permit so you will be allowed by the Proctors to take the Exam. Also, bring the Photocopy of Birth Certificate and Grades, 2 x 2 ID Picture, Valid ID (preferably school/driver’s license, and at least 2 (no.2) pencils. 

The coverage of the exam is algebra, geometry, grammar, composition, reading comprehension, verbal/numerical reasoning, and pattern analysis that aims to measure the mental ability and capability of applicants.

The result of the exam will be published in newspapers, via the PMA website and it will inform passers via email after 30 days of examination date.

Screening Stage

If you passed the PMA Entrance Exam you will receive a written notice from OFFICE OF THE CADET ADMISSION informing you to report to the AFP Medical Center (AFPMC) to undergo Complete Physical Examination (CPE) to test your physical, mental and emotional condition if you fit to become a PMA Cadet.

The Minimum Requirements for Physical Fitness Test (PFT):

• Push-Ups: Male 30 reps; Female 25 reps
• Sit-ups: Male 30 reps; Female 25 reps
• Pullups: Male 10 reps; Female 7 reps
• A 3.2 km run for both male and female

Also, the applicant must don’t have a medical condition that will disqualify him/her to become an PMA Cadet:

• color blindness
• any communicable disease
• physical deformities
• scoliosis
• tattoos
• other medical conditions as determined by AFP Medical Board Nr 1

What are the eligibility requirements of the Civil Service Exam?

According to the Civil Service Commission (CSC), to become allowed to take the exam you must qualify the requirements below:

• A Filipino citizen
• At least 18 years old
• No criminal record (civil service examination irregularity, dishonesty, drunkenness, immoral conduct, illegal drugs)
• No dismissal record from the government or military service
• Never taken the same-level of CSE within three months prior the exam date
•  Filipinos with dual citizenship may also apply and take the civil service exam if they present and submit a copy of the Certification of Retention/Reacquisition of Philippine Citizenship from the Bureau of Immigration.

If you have that qualification you can take the exam even you are a High School /K-12 graduate.  However, there’s are individual that exempted to take the exam and ready/qualified to work in the government as public servants such as:

• Board/Bar Passer – administered by the Supreme Court and the Professional Regulation Commission.
• Barangay officials who have completed their terms of office.
• Honor Graduate Eligibility that recognized by the Commission on Higher Education and State Colleges with baccalaureate degree duly approved by its Board of Trustees.

What are the application requirements of the Civil Service Exam?

How to take the Civil Service Exam?

Taking a Civil Service Exam is much likely taking a university entrance exam.
